Service was great. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time and was very good. Also jammin tunes.

I just had one of the BEST food experiences in a long time. Sushi by the piece is the only way to eat. Beef teriyaki was incredibly moist. The staff is so welcoming and the price was right. As always no photos because their website does a better job!

Solid local sushi joint with seriously great tempura, and awesome value bento boxes.

Top notch, epic Japanese food!! A jewel hidden in Bloor West Village. Reasonable prices, service is warm and friendly, and quick! Their specialty Green Tea is the best! Will be a repeat customer!

Best spicy salmon roll I've had to date!

I ordered the dinner for two and it was phenomenal! The sushi was excellent, and boy do they ever know how to infuse flavour galore into meat - it was impossibly tender! The atmosphere is calm, quiet and comforting, decor is beautiful, service is fast and friendly. Yumi is also a great bang for your buck. Located right by Jane subway station in the heart of Bloor West Village. What an amazing Japanese restaurant that you really must check out!

Service was impeccable. The waitress was so attentive and caring, always with a smile and prompt in action. I was also impressed by the utensils (the bowl, the saucer) which are so beautiful and artful, Japanese authentic.

Best sushi we've had. Portions were very generous. Salmon teriyaki was a little dry (or maybe we were just too full to properly enjoy it)

Good food. Nice atmosphere, prices are a bit high and the sushi a little bit big to pop in your mouth. But overall well worth it if you enjoy Japanese cuisine.

There is no strong fish smell like other Korean owned sushi restaurant. The staff was attentive. They actively removed finished dishes as we ate. The sushi rolls were fresh, but a little on the small side. I had requested one grilled salmon with salt and pepper be just salted (no pepper). They gave us a salmon with no seasoning at all.I asked for a yellow fish neck as an appetizer. It was good, it was also huge. I'd order it again.

Favourite sushi restaurant in the neighbourhood. Great owners that know all the regulars. The place has regulars, that says something when there are other sushi places just down the street.

Cozy and unpretentious, the service at Yumi is consistently excellent. The sushi is fresh and meticulously presented. We are always greeted warmly: it's a pleasure to eat here. Amazing Black Dragon roll...a definite must-try.

A local gem! If you’re in the Bloor west village area, stop by here for very reasonably priced but quality Japanese food. The owner/staff are extremely friendly.

Great dining experience. Superb service and exquisite food choices. I enjoyed their wine, Bento Box meal from the menu and friendly welcome. I highly recommend this place for your authentic Japanese dining.

I was there with my husband an my 20 month old twins. They have beautiful high chairs for toddlers. We where very confortable and they where very welcoming.

I don't usually give 5 stars but this place certainly deserves it. The food was excellent and AUTHENTIC. But what makes it 5 stars is the smaller details like lemon for water, nice plates and appropriate seasoning to go with the food (like さんしょ for the unagi). They even played traditional Japanese Enka music and gave sliced orange for dessert. This is one of my new favourites in Toronto.

Fast friendly service. Little amuse bouche noodles in broth was nice. Sushi was fresh and tasty. I ordered 2 rolls and 2 pieces of sushi. Some places would have thrown in the salad and miso soup. Would have made it 5 star.

Excellent food!

Enjoyed the meal. Both my wife and I had Bento boxes with a special order for my wife. Food was good and the service was really good. We went for lunch and the place was not overly busy. I recommend this place for lunch but don't know about supper. I would give them a shot though.

The service was very slow and the waitress got our order wrong despite despite the fact there were that many people in the restaurant at around 1:30pm on a weekday. The food was mediocre and had more of a Korean flare than authentic Japanese taste. If you really like good sushi and real Japanese food I don't recommend this place, but if you're just in the mood for general Asian food it's not bad.

Hands down, the best sushi spot in Bloor West village. The fish is fresh and the rolls are nicely presented and not humongous (unlike other places). They won't rush you out if you're having lunch.

Freshest japanese food around. We go to this spot at least twice a month. Great service, and the sushi chef knows his stuff. Highly recommend any of the sashimi.

Second time here, great food, great service and great location

Best place for Japanese/suhsi in Bloor West, and probably the most pleasant dining experience overall. Excellent service, ambiance, and quality, but not fussy or pretentious. Their dinner meals for two are perfect for a date or two friends to share.

Love the sushi from here. And they make it exactly how I want it. No anger no problems.

Best Sushi in Toronto! Hands down! We’ve been to many other Sushi restaurants in Toronto and we always say “Yumi’s better”. Fast service, always fresh tasty fish and good prices.

Good neighborhood joint we have now used regularly for years. Better than some local competitors (who managed on 2 occasions to deliver food with hair in it...) we used before. Owner always present and courteous. It is not the place we go for special occasions, but their food quality is honest and constant and that is all we need on regular days.
